Like Movers handles any job related to moving, including packing and unpacking services. Our guys will carefully pack your accessories in the appropriate boxes, label them, and transport them safely and sound. Additionally, we offer professional unpacking services to make your move even smoother and more stress-free.

When rescheduling your move date with Like Movers, it’s crucial to communicate with us. If you inform us of your decision 72 hours before your scheduled move date, we can change the date for you painlessly while keeping your deposit. However, if you inform us of your decision less than 72 hours in advance, we will have to withhold your deposit, and you will need to deposit again to secure a new move date. So, please inform us of your decision in a timely manner to avoid any inconvenience.

If you let us know of your decision 72 hours before your move date, Like Movers will keep your deposit and change your move date painlessly. However, if you let us know your decision less than 72 hours in advance, Like Movers will withhold your deposit and you will need to deposit again.

WHAT IS DOUBLE DRIVE TIME?
For all hourly moves in the State of California, moving companies are required to charge double drive time. The actual CPUC law is written as follows:

‘The time used shall be the total of loading, unloading and double the driving time from point of origin to point of destination.’ Unfortunately, ‘origin’ and ‘destination’ are interpreted differently by some moving companies. The generally accepted interpretation is the actual driving time between the customer’s origin location (the address you’re moving out of) to the destination location (the address you’re moving into) is doubled and charged at the hourly mover rate.

As confusing as it may be, CPUC requires all moving companies to use the double drive time law to protect consumers. Using double drive time provides visibility to the customer of the actual driving costs being paid and it compensates the moving company for their actual driving time, plus the time to return to the origin (where the job started).

Using the double drive time law, the customer is responsible for all drive time between the new and old house and the moving company is responsible for the driving time between their warehouse and the origin location.

Yes, Like Movers will provide all the necessary paperwork for your smooth moving. All that is needed for this is information about your leasing office (address, etc.). You can request theis paperwork by calling 858 222 7227.

On the day of the move, you must be present to sign the necessary documents and show the movers what items need to be moved. During the unload, the movers will place boxes in designated rooms based on the notes on the boxes. It would be helpful if you have a basic idea of where you want furniture placed beforehand so that the movers can place them accordingly. You can specify the location where furniture needs to be placed. You must inspect the truck(s) at the end of the move to ensure that all your belongings have been unloaded.

Pricing FAQS

No, the packaging service is included in the hourly rate. Like movers do not charge for the packaging service additionally.

Like Movers provides customers free of charge with Wardrop boxes, stretch wraps, tapes, and protective blankets. All other materials

Like boxes of various sizes (small, medium, large), wrapping paper, bubble wrap, etc. are provided for an additional charge.

Prices are shown here:

Small box – $2 each

Medium box – $3 each

Large box – $4 each

Wrapping paper – $45 for 1 pack

Bubble wrap – $50 for 1 pack

To make a reservation for a certain day and a certain number of professionals, you must follow the link (link) and fill out the application. After that, you need to make a deposit of $105. Upon completion of the move, $100 will be deducted from the last price.

The deposit can be made in different ways. You can use VENMO, and ZELLE, as well as pay with a bank card. If these types of payment do not suit you, you can request an invoice for payment.

To save time and expenses, Like Movers always recommends its customers to do the packing job themselves as much as possible because it is the most time-consuming process in moving. The duration of the packing work depends on the number of loose items that need to be packed into boxes. Typically, depending on the number of bedrooms and the number of professionals hired, this process can take anywhere from 4 to 12 hours. Packing the kitchen takes the longest time as most dishes need to be handled with care due to their fragility.

Cash and all major debit and credit cards are accepted. Additional payment options are Venmo and Zelle.

Like Movers does not accept personal checks as a valid form of payment for the services provided.

We charge:

  1. For hourly rate depending on the number of movers and depending on day of the week.
  2. $50 for gas (one-time payment)
  3. Double drive time
  4. If you have heavy items over 250 pounds, there may be an additional charge.
    That’s all you have to pay for. There are no hidden fees!

Yes, Like Movers charge for a minimum of 3 hours because the movers who perform the work, regardless of the duration of the work, are paid for a minimum of 3 hours.

If you only have a few things and the whole job won’t take more than 1 hour, Like Movers can get the job done for $250-350 depending on the pick-up address distance.

 

No, if you only need movers without a truck, then you will only pay for the hourly rate.

No, if you need to swap beds, lower something heavy from the 2nd floor to the first floor, or vice versa lift it to the second floor, then Like Movers is ready to do the job for $200-250.

 

Storage solutions FAQS

Yes, Like Movers provides its customers with a free storage unit for 1 week. If the storage time exceeds 1 week, a fee of $20 will be charged per day.

DURING & AFTER THE MOVE

Call 858 222 7227 immediately after discovering damage, scratches, or breakage and report the incident. Please send photos of the damage if possible. Like Movers managers will do everything to help you resolve any situation.

 

There are no tip requirements. You are not required to pay a tip. However, if you express a desire to pay an additional tip, then there are no restrictions. You can pay extra depending on your capabilities. It should be noted that 20% of the total amount is considered a very good tip.

Almost all moving companies have the usual type of insurance that covers $0.6 per pound of damaged item. However, you can purchase insurance on your own that covers the entire amount for damaged stuff. To do this, follow the link:

If you were originally given a preliminary estimate for your move, and the final time exceeded this estimate, then you are not required to pay more than the amount that you originally have been quoted.

Yes, Like Movers professionals use floor runners to protect the floor from scratches.
